Focaccia

A delicious and easy-to-make focaccia recipe, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1000 g
  • 50 g
  • 2 tablespoons honey or sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch chili powder
  • 900 ml water
  • 2 handfuls sun-dried tomatoes
  • 150 ml olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 to taste finger salt

Steps

    Dough Preparation

    • Combine flour, yeast, honey or sugar, salt, and chili. Add water and mix (dough should be sticky). Finely chop the tomatoes and mix well.
    • Cover and let it rise for 40 minutes.

    Oil Mixture

    • Mix olive oil, pressed garlic, and herbs in a bowl. Let it sit while the dough rises.

    Baking

    • Punch down the dough to release air.
    • Spread the dough on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Use fingers to make dimples in the dough. Tip: Dip fingers in oil to prevent sticking.
    • Let it rise for another 40 minutes. Spread the oil mixture over the dough, ensuring dimples are filled with oil. Sprinkle with finger salt.
    • Bake at 200°C for about 30 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped. Let it rest before serving.
